Need an introduction to UnLondon and the UnLab or want to understand more what UnLondon is all about?
Hint: it's about being 'un'-conventional in London, not being different from (or anti) London.
To get started, watch the video and read the The UnPhilosophy (an UnManifesto) to learn about how you can take part in London's very own hacker community (Hacking being changing software, hardware, vacuums, random equipment or basically anything to make it better, faster, or just do something it was never meant to do).

I've gotten a few questions, via Twitter and EMail so I figured I'd repost this stuff here.
Yes we launched today so there would be buzz at #gdldn but we're not at the point of actually having member sign ups. We're hoping to build a community that will shape the membership policy and what UnLondon will actually be. For now to help sign up on the site (here and unlondon.ca) and contribute your ideas/opinions.

Quick question: for these early contributions, is it better to post long-term information (proposed hacks, ideas, policy discussions, events, activities, etc) on this wiki, or on unlondon.ca? It seems like unlondon.ca could be in flux in the near future.

You should have more freedom on the wiki. You can link pages, etc. The blog should be used more for announcements and such.

ok.. so that brings up a question i've mine.. I swung on by the research park today on my way home from work. I was hoping to get a glimpse of the lab and start brewing ideas for possible future projects.. but the building was under lock and key.
(This was at about 5pm today)
So my question : how does access to the lab work exactly ?
what hours is it available?
is it officially open yet ?
thanks!

Hi Jamie
Access to the unLab is provided through membership. The signup process is live now and we are giving everyone free access for the month of October (http://unlondon.ca/membership/)
Membership gives you 24/7 access to the space so you can come and go as you please. Once you've signed up we run off access card every Monday and they can be picked up late Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday.
If you've got my questions feel free to email me titus@unlondon.ca
